In three days more than 25,000 people visited the stands at the SANTEXPO and the Salon Infirmier. A fine performance that shows that healthcare professionals, after two years of the pandemic, have a real need to meet up and exchange views on their professions.
SANTEXPO was created by the Fédération Hospitalière de France (FHF). It is designed for professionals from all health, social and medico-social facilities, residential homes for the elderly (EHPAD), psychiatric centers, clinics, etc. This year, they were able to meet up with 650 exhibitors (equipment manufacturers, software publishers, suppliers, e-health entrepreneurs, medical device manufacturers, architects, caregivers, institutions, etc.) and attend 250 conferences that brought together 550 speakers.
“The 2022 show was extremely important for healthcare professionals. For the first time in two years, they were able to leave their establishments, take a step back from their activity and compare experiences, take the time to exchange ideas and understand that they are part of a supportive and committed community,” Caroline Métais, Deputy Managing Director of PG ORGANISATION, the event organizer.
It is the same thing for the Salon Infirmier. The exhibitors presented solutions designed for both hospital caregivers and members of the liberal professions, with in addition a recruitment aspect. The attractiveness of public hospitals was one of the key themes addressed this year, along with technological and digital innovations, e-health and telemedicine. Issues related to the care pathway (staff management, facility management, operating room management, etc.) were also core elements of the conferences and forums scheduled. As were concerns about the management and security of health data.
“These professionals have few opportunities to meet each other in person because they work independently in their own institutions. They only meet up once a year at SANTEXPO,” Caroline Métais, Deputy Managing Director of PG ORGANISATION pointed out. “There was a lot of energy at the show. Everyone was smiling!”
SANTEXPO is the most important gathering in France dedicated to this sector. This year, for example, the University Hospital Centers have shared a great deal of information about common issues, initiatives or feedback received, which may or may not have been due to the health challenges of the last two years.
Taking advantage of the French Presidency of the European Union, the theme of the 2022 show was “Healthcare – The new frontier for Europe?” This offers an opportunity to highlight the increased cooperation between European healthcare systems and the joint efforts between companies and researchers initiated, in particular as a result of Covid-19. The next show will be held from May 23 to 25, 2023, at Paris Expo, Porte de Versailles.
